Panasonic introduces Quadradisc / CD-4, the compatible discrete 4-channel record. Quadradisc / CD-4 records are designed for compatible paybackback on both discrete 4-channel and stereo 2-channel systems. In addition to the usual 2 front channels of information the Quadradisc / CD-4 record groove also contains 2 additional channels of information that appear on the rear speakers. When played through stereophonic equipment the Quadradisc / CD-4 record reproduces all this information into 2 discrete channels.
